At the Farbrengen for Yud Shevat in תשלג –1973 – the Lubavitcher Rebbe said, “It was once thought that when there are available funds, they should go towards organizations such as bikur cholim, carrying for the sick, or building new shuls. Today, however, it is clear that all available resources should be invested in chinuch, education, for the future depends on chinuch. Rabbi Aharon Schmidt explains this through the lense of this week’s Torah portion.
