The Key Points
Today the United States is the global leader of the world. The country’s leadership is prominent in politics, international security and military issues, economics and finance, science and technology, space exploration and more. There is probably only one area where America’s leadership is not yet fully implemented. This is the leadership in the field of universal human values and morality.
Today billions of people are still influenced by convictions that have either European or Eastern origins.
This topic gains special relevance in the light of the changes that are taking place in the world. More and more analysts are puzzled by the problem of the future. Some researchers claim that in the next 10-20 years, the vast majority of jobs will be occupied by robots. These forecasts include pictures of widespread crisis and mass unemployment. What, if so, will be the new American dream?
Other forecasts provide a more positive take: the ubiquitous automation has its bright side, people will have more free time for self-education, creativity and communication.
In both cases, these social changes call for a visionary shift. The world is rapidly developing, and so is the human desire for purpose and meaningful life.
The US may be the first country to offer the world a new and universal vision of morality and purpose, based on the tradition which is as old as civilization itself.
This tradition is actually the foundation of the “European” (more than 1 billion followers) and the “Eastern” (about 1.5 billion followers) concepts which broke away from this initial knowledge and distorted its essence.
Looking at the historical pathway of this initial knowledge, we come to discover that today it is already tightly connected and even rooted in the United States through the Lubavitcher movement. The movement which is headquartered in New York and has a network of committed supporters in all corners of the globe.
According to estimates, the potential for growth and multiplication of this concept is over 160,000 times its size today.
By the creation of this office we propose to fulfill the universally accepted prophecies of the Geula (Redemption) recorded in the books of the Tanakh (Bible) and illuminated in the Jewish tradition and especially – the Chassidic teachings. The purpose of this proposal is to promote the world to the original state of eternal life, justice and goodness as described in the legislative statement of the Maimonides:
In that era, there will be neither famine or war, envy or competition for good will flow in abundance and all the delights will be freely available as dust. The occupation of the entire world will be solely to know G-d. Mishneh Torah, “The Laws of Kings”, Chapter 12
For this purpose, we empower The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the “nasi” (spiritual leader) of the generation (this is the Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson who was awarded the Congressional Gold medal in 1994),
to take the Office of Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson (Office of the Rebbe) which is established within the Executive Office of the President of the United States.
The authority to be the Head of this Office will be transferred to him with his consent at the moment of his personal arrival in a physical body as seen by the human eye.
